French, 19th century, heavily gilt and cast as a recumbent Christopher Columbus wearing a cape, with compass and charts, engraved steel dial with Roman counters, brass works "484FC", stepped scrolling platform with globe flanked by shell and fruit elements, original pendulum (no key), 19-3/8 in. lacking back cover plate.
