British, late 18th century, rich dark reddish brown color, with glazed upper case with shelved interior, removable cornice, interior with adjustable shelves, lower case with fitted desk drawer, with six interior drawers and leather writing surface, over three long drawers, flanked by paneled cabinet doors opening to adjustable shelved interiors, probably original bale brasses, dovetailed construction with oak and mahogany drawer linings, 92-1/2 x 59 x 20 in., Provenance: according to consignor notes, purchased from Bobby Dodd Jr., Atlanta, in 1996; Antiques Estate of Carl R. Hartrampf Jr., Atlanta, Georgia
excellent condition overall, upper case with original cornice, minor break and repair at one side molding, one interior drawer bottom replaced, later leather writing surface in good condition, typical minor cracks to case sides, original base molding with some later blocking
Condition
Purchased items not picked up in Richmond by noon on Sunday will then be available for pick up or shipping from our Asheville, North Carolina auction facility within ten business days of the auction will be assessed a storage fee of $5.00 per day, per item. Purchaser agrees that packing and shipping is done at the purchaser's risk and that the purchaser will pay in advance all packing expenses, materials, carrier fees and insurance charges. At our discretion, items will either be packed by an agent such as a packaging store or Brunk Auctions. Please allow two weeks for shipping after payment is received. Shipment of large items is the responsibility of the purchaser. We are happy to provide names of carriers and shippers if a purchaser so requests. Brunk Auctions will have no liability for any loss or damage to shipped items.
