probably Irish, circa 1760, dentil molded cornice with blind fretwork frieze set with leaf carved corbels, two highly figured mahogany doors opening to adjustable shelved interior, case with fitted desk interior centering an unusual mirrored and figured mahogany architectural door, flanked by two document drawers with leatherbound spines, "The Works of Dryden", shaped tooled leather writing surface, above four long dovetailed drawers with oak linings, set on ogee bracket feet, 91-1/2 x 44-3/4 (at feet) x 25 in.

good condition overall, cornice with minor losses to blind fret moldings, typical minor warping to fall board, brasses replaced, finish/color distress at one case side, original feet with some restored blocking and other repairs, possibly once fitted with additional fittings behind prospect door, other typical scattered cracks, wear, and minor repairs, minor warping to upper doors, small loss to one door molding
Purchased items will be available for pick up or shipping from our Asheville, North Carolina auction facility within ten business days of the auction will be assessed a storage fee of $5.00 per day, per item. Purchaser agrees that packing and shipping is done at the purchaser's risk and that the purchaser will pay in advance all packing expenses, materials, carrier fees and insurance charges. At our discretion, items will either be packed by an agent such as a packaging store or Brunk Auctions. Please allow two weeks for shipping after payment is received. Shipment of large items is the responsibility of the purchaser. We are happy to provide names of carriers and shippers if a purchaser so requests. Brunk Auctions will have no liability for any loss or damage to shipped items.
