British, 18th century, with gilt scrolled crest with leaf carved rosettes centering a spread wing eagle, mirror plate with gilt surround, flanked by carved and gilt floral streamers, 60 x 30-1/2 in., Provenance: back with two labels, first label: "Originally property of Gerris? family, Kittery Point, Maine. Hearst acquired it at the Heiman Kaufman sale. American Anderson Art Gallery, October 25-26, 1935". Walter B. Guy, bought it through I. very good condition overall, repairs at eagle plinth including glue repair at legs, some cracks at pediment, some minor losses to silvering on mirror plate, original backboards (back with red paint)
