good condition and structurally sound, rear legs are laminated as made, with possible small patches at outside of rear toes, very minor chips at tops of arm supports, crack and possible repair at one eagle's beak, some possible later blocking at back of knee returns, upholstery with scattered small holes and repairs, moth damage, some picking and possible cat scratch, not fully examined under upholstery, presents very well with robust carving
Christie's condition report notes from the 2020 sale:
"In good overall condition and ready to place. With the expected light nicks, faint marks and scratches consistent with age and use. With some small dings and nicks to extreme edges particularly to outer rim of arm and on feet, as to be expected. With some slight separation at joins, primarily to the knees and back legs. The back feet appear to be made of three sections, and the feet of each tipped. The back proper right leg appears to have been stabilized with an additional join. The upholstery retains bright colors, but would benefit from a professional cleaning. With a small 2 inch tear near the proper left knee. The seat sprung and therefore the seat rails have not been examined."
