Chippendale Open Armchair Chinese or possibly Colonial, late 18th or 19th century, dense heavy hardwood throughout, carved crest over pierced splat, leaf and floral carved feet rail on cabriole legs, period oak seat frame, 38-1/4 x 24 x 23-1/2 in. good overall condition, later seat frame blocking, early screw added through front leg to support stretchers, minor chips at edges of arms, crack to one rear leg, other scattered checking and minor cracks, other surface flaws.
