French, late 18th/early 19th century, engraved all over with floral and scroll design, oval cross-section, French gilt silver mount cast and chased in same design, .800 fine, maker's mark "AC"? in diamond, hinged cap activated by diamond push piece, finial a large oval cognac-colored quartz above and cut into facets below, 2-3/4 in. base wear, otherwise good condition.
