Portsmouth, late 18th/early 19th century, white secondary woods, figured mahogany top with banded inlay edge, four cockbeaded long drawers each veneered with two barber pole traced birdseye maple oval panels, swept apron with inlaid band, tall French feet, C.L. Prickett sticker to drawer interior, 37-1/4 x 40-1/8 x 22-1/2 in.

Note: Similar known examples are scarce, two are pictured in Vol. 1 page 254 and Vol. 6 page 1449 of American Antiques from the Israel Sack collection. The use of birdseye maple oval panels makes this a rare example.

very good condition overall, top with two small areas of loss to finish, scattered minor cracks and patches to veneer and drawer beading, pulls appear original, rear foot with partially replaced bracket, proper left front foot with restoration to break
