Made by Amasa Holden (1775-after 1860), probably Yates County, New York, mahogany and bird's-eye maple veneers, bottom drawer retains two 20th century labels, one inscribed in pencil "Made in great great grandfather / Amasa Holden's shop / or cabinet shop in about / 1820. H.S. Hewitt"; the other inscribed in ink "HEWITT ESTATE #2 / Small Cabinet. / Made in Great-Great / Grandfather Amasa / Holden's Cabinet Shop / in Yates Co. N.Y. in 1820," cherry secondary, 15-3/4 x 15-3/4 x 9-1/2 in.
