Inlaid Figured Mahogany Tabletop Coin Chest
probably Virginia or Maryland, circa 1800, figured mahogany and line-inlaid door opening to 16 shallow drawers, each with dividers for 42 coins, very finely dovetailed construction with mahogany and yellow pine secondary, bone pulls, and ebonized drawer dividers, set on original shaped skirt and French feet, 17-1/2 x 13 x 11 in.. Condition: some shrinkage and warping to door with associated veneer cracks and flaws, otherwise excellent condition, minor surface wear and flaws.
