dial signed "Abel Stowell", Charlestown, Massachusetts, 1800-1810, arched and painted dial with gilt spandrels, moon phase with country scene and sailing ship, eight day brass movement, seconds sweep, and date aperture, arched hood with pierced fretwork and fluted colonettes, waisted case with arched door flanked by fluted columns with brass capitals and bases, inlaid box base with scalloped molding, ogee bracket feet, original saddle board, 100 x 19-1/2 x 11 in.

Condition

dial with scattered retouch and consolidation from crackle, scattered losses and discoloration, case with strip patch at hinges (note color variation between door and case, door likely original material that has been resurfaced - unclear), shrinkage crack at base panel with scattered losses to inlay at edges, original feet with scattered breaks and repairs (later color at underside), lacking pendulum

Purchased items will be available for pick up or shipping from our Asheville, North Carolina auction facility within ten business days of the auction will be assessed a storage fee of $5.00 per day, per item. Purchaser agrees that packing and shipping is done at the purchaser's risk and that the purchaser will pay in advance all packing expenses, materials, carrier fees and insurance charges. At our discretion, items will either be packed by an agent such as a packaging store or Brunk Auctions. Please allow two weeks for shipping after payment is received. Shipment of large items is the responsibility of the purchaser. We are happy to provide names of carriers and shippers if a purchaser so requests. Brunk Auctions will have no liability for any loss or damage to shipped items.
