Bowl underglaze blue seal mark for Daoguang, the interior finely decorated in blue with scenes of the story of Niu Lang Zhi Nu which is the cowherd and the fairy weaver, depicting figures with an ox surrounded by stylized clouds and birds, exterior finely enameled with four medallions depicting figures, fine lavender ground with polychrome enameling and gilt highlights, 5-1/2 in. one small professionally repaired chip at rim, otherwise good condition, some wear to gilding at rim, very minor glaze anomalies. Notes: A closely related pair of bowls sold Sotheby's Hong Kong, April 10, 2006, lot 1725.
