Vase Chinese, possibly late Guangxu Period, water chestnut form vase with slightly compressed globular body below a tall chimney neck, high foot ring, ferocious four-clawed scaly dragon descending from the neck to the body amongst flaming pearls and stylized cloud motifs on a black ground over an incised design of The Three Friends of Winter, unmarked base, 17 in. areas of degradation to black ground, extensive glaze scratches, some cracks in stylized cloud motifs, vase possibly redecorated.
