Note: Jonas Knode was believed to be a potter in Hagerstown circa 1824, he was the father of Mary Adam, the wife of Henry Adam, there is some speculation that Jonas Knode apprenticed Henry Adam, this may be the only marked piece attributed to Jonas Knode as no other known pieces bear his name, see The Pottery Of The Shenandoah Valley Region, by H.E. Comstock, pgs. 356, 358, 431, and 435.
