attributed to Bristol, dated 1725, densely painted with borders and chains of stylized flower heads, branches, and foliate scrolls, the interior painted with the inscription "Drink Fair/Don't Sware/1725", 5-1/2 x 10-5/8 in., Provenance: purchased at auction on November 15, 2000 for œ3,828 (probably from Christie?s, Sotheby?s, or Bonhams) with Garry Atkins as the buyer's agent; Property from the Collection of Dudley and Constance Godfrey; Note: A similar punch bowl with the same inscription was in the Winterthur Museum's exhibition Uncorked!
