The Plott family home located in the Pigeon Valley of Canton, N.C. was built in 1904 by James Henry and Flora Kinsland Plott.  James Henry was a direct descendant of Johannes Plott, who immigrated to North Carolina from Germany in 1750 with Hanoverian hounds.  These hounds were bred in North Carolina, became known as Plott Hounds, and today are the official state dog.

The home is still owned by the Plott family, and contains family items dating back to the early 19th century.  This thousand flower vase is from the family collection and was in situ in the family home, along with other family pieces.

Accompanying lot is a booklet titled, The Garden Farm, Home of James H. and Flora Kinsland Plott, dated September 21, 1984.  This outlines the history of the family home and its objects.
