British, first half 18th century in part, engraved brass front fret, brass dial with Roman chapter ring and floral engraving signed "Edward Norris at ye in Bethlehem fecit,"ÿplain side frets, brass side doors, weight driven movement with crown verge escapement and strike on a bell, rear bob pendulum outside case, vase form finials, probably later chain, pendulum and wood shelf, accompanied by 1966 receipt from Sotheby & Co., London, indicating a price ofÿœ364, 15-1/2 in.Note: Noel Hume discusses this clock in his book titled, All the Best Rubbish, New York and London: Harper & Row, 1974, pages 57-59, ill.

overall scattered tarnish and discoloration to brass, probably later outside pendulum, repair to brass bell, grime
