British, first half 18th century in part, engraved brass front fret, brass dial with Roman chapter ring and floral engraving signed Edward Norris at ye in Bethlehem fecit, plain side frets, brass side doors, weight driven movement with crown verge escapement and strike on a bell, rear bob pendulum outside case, vase form finials, probably later chain, pendulum and wood shelf, accompanied by 1966 receipt from Sotheby & Co., London, indicating a price of £364, 15-1/2 in.
