Edgefield, South Carolina, mid-19th century, light olive glaze, lopsided ovoid form, turned rim, two applied lug handles under ridged neck, impressed mark and four dots at shoulder, 13-3/4 in.
glaze anomalies as made, minor rim chips, 4 in. crack from rim to shoulder and small Y-shaped crack, chip to neck ridge and associated crack, 1 in. and 1/2 in. chip to handles, 7 in. crack and glaze loss to belly below handle, four firing cracks (2 in. to 8 in.) around base, chips and wear at base edge
