probably circa 1810, underside of top with partial label for "Earnest F. Hagen / Furniture and Upholstery / 213 East 26th Street Near 3rd Avenue...", inscribed in pencil underneath "sold to Mr. R.N.H. Halsey?, Huntington, August 1925... E.F. Hagen... Genuine Duncan Phyfe",ÿwith treble elliptical top, figured mahogany veneered skirt, reeded and turned legs with brass ball feet, 31 x 36-1/4 x 18 in. - Provenance: Private Collection - Note: While this bears the label of Earnest Hagen, it appears to be a genuine New York Federal games table. Hagen is thought to have both sold authentic works by Duncan Phyfe and his contemporaries as well as copied their work.

Condition

extensive cracks, repairs, and losses to veneers, especially at skirt, distress and repair at center of stationary legs (possibly once fitted with a shelf?) , shrinkage cracks to top with associated veneer distress, patches at hinges, top of top leaf with two circular veneer patches
Purchased items will be available for pick up or shipping from our Asheville, North Carolina auction facility within ten business days of the auction will be assessed a storage fee of $5.00 per day, per item. Purchaser agrees that packing and shipping is done at the purchaser's risk and that the purchaser will pay in advance all packing expenses, materials, carrier fees and insurance charges. At our discretion, items will either be packed by an agent such as a packaging store or Brunk Auctions. Please allow two weeks for shipping after payment is received. Shipment of large items is the responsibility of the purchaser. We are happy to provide names of carriers and shippers if a purchaser so requests. Brunk Auctions will have no liability for any loss or damage to shipped items.
