Hussars on a Mountain Pass, with distant troops, apparently unsigned, watercolor, 9-1/8 x 13 in.; gilt wood and composition frame with inscribed gilt liner, 17 x 20-1/8 in.
Provenance: Presumed Ex-collection of J.H. Browne; Ex-collection A.J. Squarey worked as a solicitor, to the Mersey Docks & Harbour Board, Liverpool; sold in 1900; Ex-collection of H.E. Kidson; Private Collection, Knoxville, TennesseeNote:A letter (1880) and note (1877) attached verso, suggest this watercolor was a gift to J. H. Browne, a student of David Cox.
