The Pair of Portraits, 1814; Portrait of a woman in side profile, inscribed verso, "Done by David Boudon painter from Geneva Switzerland, in Fredericks Town Maryland, February 23, 1814," also inscribed on apparently original backing with artist name and date, (possibly silverpoint) and watercolor on prepared paper, 3 x 2-1/2 in.; in a period gilt wood frame with a painted eglomise oval mat, 5 x 4-1/2 in.; Portrait of a man in side profile, inscribed verso, "Done by David Boudon painter from Geneva Switzerland, in Fredericks Town, March, 1814," also inscribed on apparently original backing with artist name and date, (possibly silverpoint) and watercolor on prepared paper, 3-1/4 x 2-7/8 in.; in a period gilt wood frame with a painted eglomise oval mat, 5 x 4-3/8 in.

Note: The portrait of the woman was exhibited in "Keepsakes of the Beloved: Portrait Miniatures and Profiles 1790-1840" at the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts in 2011 (exhibition pamphlet accompanies the pieces). Please note this work was dated 1790s in the exhibition catalogue, however, it is dated 1814 verso.
