British, carved initials and date "MH 1723", hinged top with open interior, above a carved and paneled case, two side hung drawers, paneled back, mellow honey brown color, 31-1/2 x 50 x 23 in. - Provenance: Private Collection, Connecticut
top probably restored, set with later wrought iron hinges, water stains and˜finish losses to top, brasses replaced (drawer facings with scars from previous central pulls), otherwise good with typical scattered surface wear, cracks, and other flaws
