(Washington, born 1941) early ruffled bowl in shades of blue, green and yellow, base signed "Chihuly 1984", 6 x 10-1/2 x 10-1/4 in., excellent condition with slight roughness at pontil, some surface wax. Notes: Dale Chihuly, studied under Harvey Littleton, became co-founder of Pilchuck Glass School, near Stanwood, WA. The consignor was for ten years a member of the Penland School of Crafts Board, Spruce Pine, NC, and had the opportunity to know many of the glass artists there and watch the creative process. Over numerous years, this consignor took a deep interest in traveling, meeting top artists, some in their studios and homes, others in gallery shows and began collecting important Art Glass in various venues within the U.S.A. and abroad..
