American, 19th century, lidded cut glass cigar jar, possibly Dorflinger & Sons "Renaissance" pattern, resting in fitted metal mounted carved wood frame with lock mechanism marked "C. Dorflinger & Sons/New York", frame including handle approximately 12-3/4 x 10-1/4 x 8 in.
Provenance: Private Collection, Lancaster, Pennsylvaniaframe locked and missing key, glass humidor possibly original, not inspected outside of locking frame, some dirt and residue accretion to interior visible; frame possibly tampered with (later screw and bolt at one side of locking handle), metal mounts with heavy tarnish and discoloration, wood with some surface dirt and accretion, scattered scratches, bumps, and minor wear to edges, crazing to finish throughout
