Raphael Semmes/CSS Sumter" at back of grip, supposedly a presentation to the named, overall 13 in. length; accompanied by quarter plate milk glass ambrotype of two gentlemen, said to be Raphael Semmes and Francis Spencer, as well as documents on Semmes and the photographer Chauncey Barnes of Mobile, Alabama
