Roman Provincial, circa 36 B.C., Cleopatra VII and Marc Antony busts, obverse legend "BACI?ICCA K?EO?AT?A éEA NEêTE?A", reverse "ANTêNIOC AYTOK?ATê? T?ITON T?IêN AN??êN" - Note: This coin was likely minted in Antioch, modern day Turkey, during the alliance of Marc Antony and Cleopatra. The busts on opposing sides served to announce their strong partnership. It is interesting to note that Cleopatra?s image is found on the coin?s obverse, identifying her as the more important of the two rulers. She is shown in a pearl embroidered dress with a crown atop her braided hair. - Provenance: Estate of Paul W. Doll, Jr., Lake Toxaway, North Carolina
