Hippocamp Girandole Mirror
Continental, first half 19th century, with hippocamp finial set on a leaf and shell-carved plinth, convex mirror with gilt frame and issuing two scrolled candle arms, set with a leaf-carved drop, 32 x 44 x 9-1/2 in.. Condition: regilding with losses and surface flaking, some cracks to candle arms and to mirror surround, carved ornament with some cracks and possible repairs obscured by later gilding, backboards repainted.
