British, probably 18th century, circular dished top over a ring-and-baluster turned support and tripod base with slipper feet, 20 in.. Condition: generally good condition, top attachment with dry glue (currently loose), surface with areas of later brown stain, one minor crack to pedestal near leg attachment. Provenance: Ronald Phillips Ltd., London, 29 June 1989, accompanied by copy of original receipt, purchase price 5100 pounds sterling; Estate of Charles G. Thalhimer, Richmond, Virginia
