American or British, 18th century, scrolled pediment centering a pierced and gilt spread wing phoenix, scrolled ears, old distressed mirror plate with carved and gilt surround, 42-1/2 x 23-3/4 in.

surface distress with losses and distress to gilding on phoenix, typical veneer cracks and checking, especially at ears, scattered minor repairs at scrolls, mirror plate with some distress to silvering (probably original, not removed for exam), one upper scroll restored
