British or American, late 18th century, pierced and scrolled crest set with gilt phoenix on a scrolled and leaf-carved base, 37 x 18 in.. Condition: refinished, mirror plate replaced, scattered breaks, repairs and restorations to scrolled ornament including restored uppermost section behind phoenix's head.
