British, or possibly Eastern North Carolina, 18th century, the circular top tilting over a box form support rotating on a pedestal base with door ? column, bellflower carved knees with undercut scrolls, 30 x 36 in.

good condition overall, refinished, break and repair to one leg with plugged screw at top, (some cracks and distress at underside), minor stains and scratches to top, wooden key replaced, wooden drop at bottom, possibly later (it rests on top of iron spider), formerly fitted with casters (now removed)
