British or possibly New York, 18th century, well carved crest over pierced and leaf carved splat, flame upholstered slip seat, gadrooned seat molding, leaf carved cabriole legs with ball and claw feet, 38 x 24-1/2 x 23 in.

seat frame with tacking scars from previous over the rail upholstery, bumps and wear to carving at knees, some original seat blocking
