Possibly New York, 1760-1790, with leaf carved serpentine crest, pierced splat, scrolled arms and molded square legs with stretchers, 37 x 25-1/2 x 23-1/2 in.

one front leg likely restored (repair at attachment), break and repair at one rear stile near joint with crest, medial stretcher replaced, later front seat blocking (rear blocking possibly original, wood species not identified), modern slip seat with linen upholstery
