Dish and Watercolor "Ansley" Arms
Chinese and English, 18th and 19th century, export porcelain armorial oval dish with center armorial circular gilt decorated device of Native American figure holding a bow, supporting gilt shield armorial surmounted by a white goose with spread wings, surrounded by a floral decoration in gilt and brick red, repeating border decoration around top rim, umarked, oval footed base, 1-3/4 x 10 x 7-3/4 in., firing flaw to center as made; ink and watercolor framed arms for "Ansley", depicting a blackamoor over a striped shield with a crossed scalloped banner, seated over a banner reading "Virtutis Amore", 19th century gilt frame, 9-5/8 x 7-1/2 in. (image size), good condition with one spot to center right, frame with extensive loss to gilt surface . Provenance: Private Collection
