Notes: Herbert J. Diekman, Captain in the US Army, served in the 2000 man contribution to the 8-Nation coalition forces in China during the Boxer Rebellion in 1899. By family tradition, Diekman acquired the panels from Imperial Palace in Peking and brought them to display in his Brooklyn, New York home.
