possibly Qing dynasty, rectangular vessel supported by long cylindrical legs, decorated in relief with taotie masks on each side, two top handles, underside with inset archaic script, wooden carved reticulated lid with possibly cherry red amber finial, carved fitted base, all three pieces with handwritten red accession number "66.18.1a", censer, 8 x 6-1/2 x 5 in.; with stand and lid, 10 x 6-3/4 x 5 in.

missing chip from underside of wooden lid, stable crack to one edge of wooden base, some small scattered chips to wooden base, interior with three areas of residual casting material, small mars to surface of bronze consistent with age and use, patination to surface, areas of wear to surface, loss to patination at bottom of legs
