(American/Chinese, born 1934) As Lofty as a Mountain, circa 1960s, signed lower left, mixed media with collage on canvas; possibly signed in character's left, 44 x 29-3/4 in.; modern frame, 45-1/4 x 31 in. Notes: Chuang Che was the son of scholar and calligrapher, Chuang Shang-Yen. The influences of his early exposure to Chinese calligraphy can be seen integrated in this work, which melds eastern to western Abstract Expressionism.

Sales Tax: If you live in North Carolina and/or pick up from the auction house, and do not have a valid resale tax number on file with us, you MUST pay North Carolina state sales tax. The NC Sales Tax will not apply to any items being shipped out of state (unless the client resides in North Carolina) or to those clients with a resale tax number.
