(Catawba Valley, North Carolina, 20th century) tan green alkaline glaze, cream and cobalt blue swirl, both sides with applied facial features including pronounced nose and lips, bulging kaolin eyes with cobalt pupils, large ears, articulated eyebrows and facial hair, broken china teeth and clay teeth, signed "Steve Abee" on lower body of jar, signed "Charles Lisk, Vale, N.C." under one handle, wavy line decoration and stamped "S.A." between applied strap handles at shoulder, 11-1/2 in.
