South Carolina, 1790-1810, swellfront form set with satinwood diamond inlaid patera, line inlaid drawers and doors, white pine secondary, five drawers centering two cabinet doors, interior with traces of early red wash, 39 x 61 x 22-1/2 in.

 

good condition overall, typical minor warping and cracks to top, brasses are period replacements depicting a shepherd and his flock, door hinges replaced, scattered cracks, repairs and restorations to veneer and inlay, especially at some drawer banding (some areas of color retouch), minor crack at one door facing and chip and repair at lock catch for central drawer, underside of central drawer with paint inscription 'genuine antique furniture'
