18th century, hand written and illuminated patent on vellum for the surnames Toribio and Ugarte, executed by Pascual de la Rua Ruiz de Naveda, chronicler to Charles III, for a Don Melchor Thoribio de Ugarte, including Ugarte coat of arms, seal of Charles III, fold and fold out hand drawn family tree, and numerous signatures, bound in full red and gilt blindstamped leather, 12 x 8 x 1 in.
