Hafner/N.Y. 1924-25, bronze, 72-1/2 in.Note:ÿCharles Hafner studied at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, the Art Students League in NY, and the Beaux Arts Institute of Design in Paris. He is perhaps best known for his sculpture, Peter Pan, that was originally made for a fountain at the Paramount Theater in Times Square. It was gifted to the city of New York and installed in a garden.This figural composition is reminiscent of Venus and frolicking putti but reflected in an earthy manner, suggesting a happy family, perhaps even his own.
