Note:

This carved bust of John Shultz Shriver (1788-1855) was original mounted on a steam propeller ship built by Harlan and Hollingsworth of Wilmington, DE for the Baltimore and Philadelphia Steamboat Company, also known as the Ericson Line. Shriver, in conjunction with the Cadwalader family in Philadelphia, controlled the transportation of merchandise between these two major Atlantic ports and New York. Shriver was Quartermaster for the American troops during the Battle of Baltimore in 1814. He also rode with Peter Cooper on the first trial run of "Tom Thumb,", the first locomotive.
