Continental, possibly German, 19th/early 20th century, carved owl form nutcracker with glass eyes, 8-1/2 in.; carved adjustable book rack with rectangular base with two sliding panels, each with hinged carved owl bookend with glass eyes, 2-1/2 x 17 x 5-3/4 in. closed/folded down, height with owls upright 7 in., extends to 29 in.
