(18th/19th century) Thirteen drawings, circa 1797-1803, mostly head studies copied afterÿCharles Le Brun's textbook on expressions,ÿone inscribed "Mr. Pitt angelified!" (Le Ravissement) , inscribed in inside cover "George Romney", likely added later, 16 pages total of laid papers with watermarks "H 1797" and crown, post horn and shield, soft cover bound with marbleized book paper, 9-1/8 x 14-3/4 in. (22.9 x 35.6 cm.) - Provenance: Private Collection, Kingsport, Tennessee - Note: The drawing with the inscription, "Mr. Pitt angelified!" likely refers to the Prime Minister, William Pitt, who was in office during the same period.
