Provenance: Mr. and Mrs. Robert Dun Patterson, Dayton, Ohio, co-founders of The Dayton Foundation; Estate of Flora Bush Jansing, First Cousin of George H.W. Bush
Note: This portrait was formerly identified as a portrait by Sir Henry Raeburn likely because of a sitter identified as "Alexander Duncan" mentioned in David Mackie, Raeburn Complete Catalogue of Sir Henry Raeburn, R.A., Life and Art, as no. 235. It likely refers to an adult sitter who died just prior to the Raeburn exhibition of 1824.
