He was a regular on radio, television, and stages across the country, as well as being the songwriter of such classics as Peach Pickin' Time in Georgia. There is a photograph of the Home Town Boys with Clayton McMichen in the digital archive of the Country Music Hall of Fame. It is quite clearly the same musicians. The inscription on the photo reads "Home Town Boys String Band. Atlanta Ga Sept. 18- 22.", Provenance: Property of a Southern Collector
