(German, 1888-1960) A Pair of Flower Fairy Botanicals: Frolicking, a viney fairy dancing on vines near a large bloom and butterfly, signed faintly lower left "E. Maydell", 14-1/2 x 11 in. (sight); Susanna Bathes, a small nude fairy standing within a lady slipper surmounted by a spider, signed faintly at bottom right at stem, "E. Maydell", 13 x 10 in., both watercolor over pencil on paper laid on card; painted wood frames, both toned, boards mounted at top to verso of original mat, pencil inscriptions in margins, "Suzanna" with foxing; frames with abrasions. Provenance: Collection of Charles Edward Brodnax Hansell and Sylvia Hansell, Mimosa Hall, Roswell, Georgia; by descent in family.
