Notes: Augusta Oelschig has earned a respected place in the growing pantheon of significant southern female artists. She was born in Savannah, Georgia and studied under Lamar Dodd, the same period as this drawing. She held exhibitions first at the Telfair in 1941 and followed at prestigious New York galleries.
