Three quarter portrait of a woman in white gown, pearl jewelry, inscribed on label verso "Anne Sanford/wife of William Sanford/daughter of J Chisholm baronet of Raleigh by Hudson", oil on canvas, 50 x 40-3/8 in.; carved and giltwood Louis XIII type English frame with acorn and leaf garland decoration, 58 x 50 x 3 in.

Note: Anne Chichester (born 1719) was the daughter of Sir John Chichester, 4th Baronet Chichester of Raleigh (1688-1740). She married William Sanford of Nynehead, Somerset (born circa 1719). A group of six of the Sanford family portraits descended in the family and were stored in Roswell, Georgia. This portrait was sold by Four Seasons Gallery, Atlanta, Georgia, June 29, 2006.

Purchased items will be available for pick up or shipping from our Asheville, North Carolina auction facility within ten business days of the auction will be assessed a storage fee of $5.00 per day, per item. Purchaser agrees that packing and shipping is done at the purchaser's risk and that the purchaser will pay in advance all packing expenses, materials, carrier fees and insurance charges. At our discretion, items will either be packed by an agent such as a packaging store or Brunk Auctions. Please allow two weeks for shipping after payment is received. Shipment of large items is the responsibility of the purchaser. We are happy to provide names of carriers and shippers if a purchaser so requests. Brunk Auctions will have no liability for any loss or damage to shipped items.
